En 1530, Fray Juan de Padilla fue el primer franciscano en pisar tierras tuxpanenses, encontrando resistencia del l\u00edder ind\u00edgena Cuixaloa. Sin embargo, a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, en 1535, influenciado por la evangelizaci\u00f3n del vecino Zapotl\u00e1n, Cuixaloa abraz\u00f3 la fe cristiana, marcando el inicio del sincretismo religioso en nuestra regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fue as\u00ed como en 1536 se construy\u00f3 el primer convento en honor a San Juan Bautista, dando origen a lo que hoy conocemos como Tuxpan, Jalisco. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebramos 489 a\u00f1os de una historia forjada entre culturas, ra\u00edces y tradiciones que nos definen.
